ALL BAND Picnic and Parent/Student Meeting

The ALL BAND Picnic and Parent/Student Meeting is this Friday, August 24th @ 6PM in the Tigard High Cafeteria.

Burgers/dogs & drinks will be provided. We ask each family to bring other food items based on your student’s last name.
A-G – Salad
H-L – Fruits & Veggies
M-R – Sides (chips, snacks, dips, etc.)
S-Z – Desserts

At the meeting, in addition to eating so great food, you’ll have the chance to:

  1. Hear & see the kids perform!
  2. Discover more about the programs from Director of Bands, Jim Irving, and Director of Marching Programs, Kati McKee
  3. Hear from the 2018-2019 Tigard Band & Auxiliary Booster Board & vote on the 2018-2019 Budget.
  4. Learn more about who the Tigard Band & Auxiliary Boosters are and what Tigard Band & Auxiliary Boosters do.
  5. Pay fees & order a band jacket
  6. See what Fundraising events and opportunities are planned & the ability to sign up for them!

Band Jackets Available to Order

LEARN MORE HERE » (sizing, images, etc…)We’re now taking orders for band jackets! They are very nice quality, warm, and water resistant. Many kids have their season patches sewn onto their jackets. Adults are welcome to order too (or two)!

We need a MINIMUM of 12 orders to proceed. Deadline is Wednesday, September 12th, 2018.

Our Cost: $45, payable to THS Band Boosters. If we get the order turned in by September 12th the jackets should be ready in time for the first Marching Band competition on October 6th! If you’d like to pay via credit card at the August meeting we’ll need to add a $1.25 service charge.

Order forms and checks can be delivered directly to Kati McKee or placed in the black box in the band room. Or bring them to the August meeting!

All Band Member Band Camp

CONCERT/ SYMPHONIC BAND, WIND ENSEMBLE, PERCUSSION TECHNIQUES, JAZZ LAB

Your camp is Thursday August 23, 1-3pm and Friday, August 24, 1pm-5pm. You will be learning a great deal of music and preparing for a variety of performances. (see the Band Camp Guide).

Fall Can & Bottle Drive on September 29th @ Twality Middle School, so start saving those returnable items! We’ll also be adding something new! A LuLaRoe Mobile Shopping Boutique experience, also on September 29th @ Twality Middle School. This is volunteer driven event. More info to come.

What is a Band Booster? Where can I learn what is going on?

What is a Band Booster? You’re a Band & Auxiliary Booster if you’re the parent or guardian of a student in any Band Class, a Marching Ensemble Member, a Winter Color Guard Member, a Winter Drumline Member, or a Cadet Drumline Member. Yes, just by allowing your student to be part of any one of these groups you’re automatically a Booster. Congratulations! To learn more about what it means to be a Booster please read About Us and the Welcome to the Boosters page. The Board would also love to learn more about you, you can tell us by filling out the Booster Questionnaire. Email the Board with any questions or comments – thsbandboostersor@gmail.com.
